Protect the car you are selling.
A listing photo is a promise. When the car on the forecourt does not match the car in the advert, the buyer notices, and so does your reputation.

What generative tools actually do
Generative image models do not edit a photo. They draw a new one that resembles it. Ask for a cleaner background and the model redraws reflections, smooths panels and tidies wheels because that is what a nicer picture looks like. Stone chips, a kerbed alloy or a scuffed bumper are exactly the details it is trained to lose. Some tools now sell 360 spins stitched from four photos: every view in between is the model’s guess.
Why that is your problem, not the software’s
Under UK consumer law the car you sell has to match its description, and the photographs are part of that description. A buyer who travels to see a car that looked flawless online arrives disappointed at best. At worst it is a complaint, a returned car and a review that names you. The software company is not in that conversation.
What Podiar does instead
We measure. The app records where the phone was for every frame using AR, and how far away using LiDAR. We render your room in Blender for that exact camera, find the floor, and stand the real car on it. The car’s own pixels are carried through untouched: its paint, its trim, its marks.
Where we do use machine learning
To cut the car out of the yard, and to find the number plate so we can cover it. Both decide which pixels are the car. Neither is allowed to change them. That is the whole distinction, and it is written into how the pipeline is built.
| Generative tools | Podiar | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the car’s pixels come from | Redrawn by a model | Your photograph |
| Views in a 360 spin | Guessed between a few photos | Every frame photographed |
| Chips, scuffs, kerbing | Often smoothed away | Exactly as they are |
| The room | Imagined per image | Rendered for each camera |
| Same room on every car | Rarely | Always |
Four promises, in writing, for every car you photograph with us:
- We will never repaint your car.
- We will never hide damage.
- We will never invent an angle you did not shoot.
- We will never add trim, wheels or options the car does not have.
